PwC Camogie All-Stars – Building a Championship Sponsorship from the Ground Up

Background

In 2022, PwC Ireland sought to expand their existing GAA sponsorship portfolio to strengthen their commitment to women’s sport and increase the profile of female athletes.

The Challenge

The Camogie Association needed a title sponsor for their prestigious All-Stars awards that would match the calibre and reach of their male counterparts’ sponsorship.

The challenge was to establish a completely new sponsorship structure that would deliver value for PwC, elevate the profile of camogie players, and create a sustainable, award-winning events programme.

The Solution

Ri Collective implemented a comprehensive operational framework that included:

  • Strategic Partnership Structure: Ri Collective designed and executed a three-year title sponsorship (2022–2024) that integrated seamlessly with PwC’s existing GAA/GPA sponsorship portfolio while creating distinct recognition opportunities for camogie players.

  • Awards Programme Delivery: Ri Collective managed the annual PwC Camogie All-Stars gala banquet at Croke Park, coordinating nominee selection processes, award ceremonies, and player recognition events.

  • Multi-Stakeholder Coordination: Ri Collective orchestrated collaboration between the Camogie Association, PwC Ireland, sponsors, venues, media partners, and the GPA to ensure equal profile and recognition for female athletes.

  • Operational Excellence: Ri Collective established systems and processes for monthly Player of the Month awards throughout the championship season, alongside the flagship All-Stars event.

Ri Collective's Role

As the Operations Management team, Ri Collective led the end-to-end delivery of the new PwC Camogie All-Stars partnership, managing all operational, logistical, and strategic elements of the sponsorship from inception through to execution. Ri Collective worked directly with the team at PwC Ireland and coordinated across multiple stakeholders including players, the Camogie Association leadership, PwC’s sponsorship team, and event delivery partners.
